Mums Kids Jesus

Loving family | Meeting God

by Joanna Chee

Are you struggling today?

This post is adapted from an email I sent my subscribers several months ago. Want to receive encouragements like this direct to your inbox? Subscribe here!

Dear Lovely Friend,

I’m going to be honest.

I’m struggling today.

One of my kids is going through a difficult and emotional season. It is difficult and emotional for me too. Overwhelmingly so.

I’m reminded of a post I wrote several years ago – different child, different situation – I Can’t Carry My Children Anymore: All About Coming To An End Of Myself, Letting Go, And Letting God.

I have come to an end of myself, again. The only answer is God. I can’t carry my child. I can’t come up with all the answers. I can’t keep pushing forward in my own strength. I need Jesus.

The wonderful thing is He is there. He not only carries my child. He carries me. Instead of struggle, I can rest in His arms. Instead of anxiety, I can know His peace.

I have been listening to the song Into the Deep the last few days. These words minister to me so much:

Into the deep I will go with You
Submerge my feet to my head in all of You
As Your presence falls
I am drowned in Your love
Immerse me, immerse me.

The only answer I have is to immerse myself in Jesus. His love drowns me. His love holds and keeps me.

How about you? Are you struggling today?

As hard as it may be, I encourage you, come to Jesus. Tell him everything. Pour out to him. Put on some worship music. Soak in his love.

There may be no immediate answers. But God has you. He has your situation. It’s OK to be in a place of struggle, but you don’t have to carry the weight of it any longer. Give it to Jesus.

You might like to use my free 3-day video series Knowing God: Going Deeper to help you soak in God’s love and goodness, and to receive from him. Just a simple re-connection with God can make all the difference!

Let’s pray for each other:

Lord Jesus, We need you. We give you every situation that overwhelms. We give you our children, our families. We can’t carry them anymore. Thank you for your strong arms. Thank you, they are big enough! We refuse every attack on our families, on our minds and our thoughts. We cover ourselves and our families with the blood of Jesus. We step into your peace, your provision of answers, your rest. Thank you, it’s not up to us. You carry us. You carry our situation. Amen.

I appreciate your prayers. Please leave a comment below if you’d like me to pray anything for you. Let’s support each other.

Bless you!

Joanna xx
